About Me

Hi! My name is Abigail (Abi) Hartlein, and I am a second year Intended Journalism major at the University of Georgia. I am taking this course for two main reasons, the first being that horticulture is a topic I do not have extensive prior knowledge in and therefore am quite interested in, and the second being that I wanted additional classes to take during the summer so I could get ahead of the game as far as my graduation date is concerned. I think the history and information surrounding herbs and medicinal plants is more than intriguing, for plants have been used in various ways since the dawn of time and the development of both their uses and our knowledge of such uses is very interesting. I hope to gain a deeper understanding of what herbs and medicinal plants I use in my daily life as well as their purposes, their uses, and how we came to know them over time. I look forward to learning about the world of horticulture and participating in this class. Nice to meet you!
